Presenter -
Kelli Swanson Jaecks, RDH, MA holds a Master’s degree
from Oregon State University in Communication and Adult
Education, where she taught Leadership and Public
Speaking. She is a nationally published author and
speaker on issues of health awareness and leadership.
Kelli is an active leader in the Oregon Dental
Hygienists' Association, serving at the local, state and
national levels. She holds a Limited Access Permit and
is currently ODHA Vice-President. Her passions include
empowering healthcare professionals to achieve their
personal and professional goals, and educating the
public towards optimal personal health. |

Managing the Maze of Oral Care Products
Recent scientific studies show strong correlations
between oral and systemic disease, including CVD,
and Diabetes. Periodontal bacteria and
inflammation play dark, supporting roles in the
theater of overall health. We are helped in the
quest for personal health by understanding these
connections and knowing what oral care products
should play leading roles in our oral care
regimen. What is the correlation between oral
disease and systemic disease? What products can I
use to optimize my oral health? What is available
OTC for the oral annoyances of life? This
interactive course will give you the keys to
answer these questions and more. Participants will
leave better equipped to make decisions for their
oral and whole health needs.
Course Objectives
• Explore correlations of the oral/systemic
link
• Understand periodontal disease and its impact on
total health
• Provide prevention strategies for positive oral
health
• Discover OTC products to treat common oral
problems
This course can be
adapted for a 2 or 3-hour time slot. It is best
suited to non-dental professionals, although the
dental team will receive a useful update and
